ACTUAL
LIVE CONCERTS
We're going to play actual live rock concerts in April,
Gusterrhoids! Three of them. In really arbitrary
locations.
April 14th -- Worcester MA
April 18th -- Vail CO
April 25th -- Atlanta GA
The Worcester show's at the Hanover Theater, open to the public, with
discounted
tickets
for students in the Worcester Consortium. Go easy on
us! We haven't played in months.
The
Vail
show is downtown on the street
to celebrate the last ski day of the season. They're letting
us send One Very Lucky Guster Fan out there, all expenses-paid style
(lift tickets, snowboard rental, etc), through a "contest" -- if we
figure out some trivia question or something for this in the next ten
minutes, I'll include it at the bottom of this emailer so you can try
to win the trip.
The
Atlanta
show is supporting Ben Harper at
the Verizon Amphitheater in Alpharetta Georgia for a Dave FM Earth Day
show. I recently had the privilege of seeing Ben Harper play
lap steel alongside Will Ferrell on Conan O'Brien's farewell Free
Bird.
Must
see TV.
SET
LIST WHEEL
Speaking of actual live concerts -- one of the more interesting ones
we've ever played was in 1998 at the Met Cafe in Providence
RI. We spent hours making a totally functional "set list
wheel" (idea stolen from Elvis Costello) that night, with every song
we'd ever recorded written in sharpie on it. Any
song in our young repertoire had a chance to get played whenever we
spun the dial. I can't remember if we played songs twice if
we landed on them twice, and I won't go back and listen a show we
played twelve years ago, but now
YOU CAN!
Thanks to Michael "Pasty" Corcoran, the show has been digitized and
uploaded to our website for your... enjoyment.
Enjoy. Yes, "Happy Frappy" is on there.
I
AM A FANTASY BASKETBALL CELEBRITY
This really happened:
Twenty
questions for Guster's Brian
Rosenworcel with Rotoworld's NBA Fantasy Basketball Guru Steve
Alexander... watch me talk about Tyreke Evans and Chat Roulette in the
same interview! Learn more about our new album on a fantasy
basketball website than you do through the
studio journal!
WE
FINISHED RECORDING OUR ALBUM
Hallelujah! We're off to mix the album with our friend Peter
Katis for the rest of March, and then we have to master (!) our album,
and then we have to wait a few more months for it to be released, but
it's in the bag and it's going to be awesome. Smart money's
on a September 1st release date.
AM
I REALLY DOING A VAIL SHOW TRIVIA QUESTION?

Vail. Go.

Green Music Group
020110GMG
G-friends,
We are proud to announce the launch of
Green Music Group, a coalition
of musicians, industry leaders, and fans working to inspire widespread
environmental action. GMG was created by Adam and his wife,
Lauren Sullivan as a new initiative of their non-profit
Reverb. Other founding artists include Dave Matthews Band,
Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, The Roots, Bonnie
Raitt, and Barenaked Ladies.
This past weekend, Ryan and Adam played with members of Maroon 5, The
Roots, and Dave Matthews Band in an "eco-supergroup" at the
GMG launch event in Hollywood.
Anyone who loves music and wants to make a difference can join, and we
hope you will. Check out Green Music Group for videos, prizes
and challenges from your favorite artists. As a thank you for
getting involved, we're giving away some cool eco-friendly guitars
signed by GMG founding artists. Join us!
