Here we are making rough mixes and packing up the rental Kia Sedona minivan and I've barely documented these six songs at all. We came a few background vocals and a few lyrics shy of finishing completely, but it doesn't matter since we're going to have to wait and mix this stuff after our tour anyway. Hence the projected April release date for the album. Unlike the first batch of songs from Nashville, these mixes are a bit easier. They're a bit more band-y-sounding than the others, which were a bit more band-y-sounding than Keep It Together. It's fun to be in a quartet.
Some developments, "Hang On Suzanne" is now just "Hang On" and "the one that rocks" is now called "The Beginning of the End." Levon Helm, who supposedly lives in the neighborhood, almost showed up last night to make a guest appearance on "Hang On." So I'm told. He could be my favorite musician in the entire world. Quite possibly.
My favorite caterer in the entire world though is Lisa, and we will close this brief and shallow chapter in Studio Journal history with a picture of her, and a picture of her matzoh balls.
